1. General
1.1 These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all plumbing services (“Services”) provided by JW Plumbing Services Limited (“we”, “us”, or “our”) to domestic and commercial customers (“you”, “your”).
1.2 By booking our services or accepting our quotation, you agree to these Terms.
1.3 No variation of these Terms shall be valid unless agreed in writing by us.
2. Quotations and Estimates
2.1 Any quotation or estimate provided is valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
2.2 Estimates are given based on the information available at the time and may be subject to change if additional work or materials are required.
2.3 Any changes to the scope of work may affect the final cost.
3. Bookings and Access
3.1 You agree to provide reasonable access to the property to allow us to carry out the Services.
3.2 If we cannot gain access at the agreed time, we reserve the right to charge for lost time and travel.
3.3 We will make every reasonable effort to attend appointments on time but are not liable for delays caused by factors beyond our control (e.g., traffic, supplier delays, emergencies).
4. Prices and Payment
4.1 Prices are quoted exclusive of VAT unless otherwise stated.
4.2 Unless otherwise agreed in advance, our payment terms are 14 days from date of invoice.
4.3 We prefer payment by bank transfer. Methods of payment are shown on our invoice.
4.4 Late payments may incur interest at 4% above the Bank of England base rate, calculated daily until full payment is received.
5. Materials and Parts
5.1 Any materials supplied remain our property until paid for in full.
5.2 We may use equivalent materials if specific products are unavailable, provided performance and quality are not compromised.
5.3 Any materials removed during work (unless agreed otherwise) become our property for disposal.
6. Guarantee and Liability
6.1 We guarantee our workmanship for 12 months from the date of completion unless otherwise stated.
6.2 Manufacturer warranties apply to all supplied materials and parts.
6.3 This guarantee does not cover:
Customer-supplied parts or materials
Misuse, accidental damage, or neglect
Normal wear and tear
Pre-existing faults or defects in the property’s plumbing system
6.4 Our liability is limited to the value of the Services provided. We are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses.
7. Customer Responsibilities
7.1 You must inform us of any known issues, hazards, or relevant property information before we start work.
7.2 You are responsible for ensuring the area of work is safe and accessible.
7.3 If asbestos or other hazardous materials are suspected, work will stop until it is confirmed safe to proceed.
8. Cancellations and Delays
8.1 You may cancel a booking without charge, however we would prefer 24 hours notice if possible to allow us to reallocate the time to another customer.
8.2 If we need to postpone due to unforeseen circumstances, we will reschedule at the earliest opportunity.
9. Emergency Call-Outs
9.1 Emergency call-outs may attract a premium rate.
9.2 Work will be made safe as a priority; further repairs may require a follow-up visit and additional costs.
10. Data Protection
10.1 We will handle your personal information in accordance with UK data protection laws (including GDPR).
10.2 Your data will only be used to manage your booking, carry out our services, and maintain records.
11. Complaints
11.1 We aim for complete customer satisfaction.
11.2 If you have a complaint, please contact us directly in writing or by email. We will aim to resolve the issue promptly and fairly.
12. Governing Law
12.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
12.2 Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
